»» San Miniato, the Town of White Truffle

San Miniato is a small center in Tuscany, 40 km away from Florence, also known for its white truffle.

San Miniato - Tuscany

The the hills surrounding the town represent a prominent truffle-producing area for the search of white truffle. Because of that San Miniato is also called “The City of Truffles”.
The combination of forest fauna and geological substratum, makes possible the presence of this valued tuber in this area (the white truffle is even harder to find — and also more valued, than the black truffle).

During the last three week-ends of November San Miniato celebrates its white truffle with a festival that also offer many other local specialties, such as wine, olive oil, and cheeses.
