A ‘Calabrian evening’ will be held in Salt Lake City, Utah, Thursday, April 26, 2007.

“Calabria: the Magic Peninsula” — for the ‘Regions of Italy Series’, is an evening featuring a lively general presentation with visual aids by Paul Colosimo, a third generation Calabrese who has made of Calabria’s traditionals food recipes a successful business.
A short documentary about the region will also be shown, followed by a Q&A session.

On Sunday, a tourist in Rome tried a remake of the famous Fellini’s movie “La Dolce Vita“.

A woman from Milan, aged about 40, exceeded what Anita Ekberg did in the 60’s in the same Rome’s fountain. After undressing herself completely and throwing her clothes in the water, she took a dip in the Trevi Fountain. Hundreds of tourists were delighted with the show.

However it did not last long; while sunbathing on the edge of the famous fountain, police invited her to collect her clothes from the water and leave. It seems she will face a stiff fine for ‘obscene behaviour in public’.

Rome celebrates its birth on 21 April every year. The Eternal City was founded by Romulus; April 21, 753 BC, is remembered as the foundation date.

The Campidoglio and the Giardino degli Aranci host most of the celebrations.

The celebrations include firework display over the Tiber, parades, gladiator shows, traditional Roman banquets and public speeches galore from local historical societies.

All archaeological sites and museums in Rome are also open and admission is free.

Italian American tenor Aaron Caruso is undertaking a tour of Northern Ontario, Canada.
