Feast of St. Donatus in Blue Island, IL. Since 1909 the Feast of St. Donatus has been the first full week in August, with procession of the Saint through the streets of Blue Island on Sunday.

Over The River And Through The Woods“, play by Joe DiPietro, is about four Italian grandparents deal with their shock at hearing that their grandson, the last family member who still lives close enough to visit, is taking a job 3,000 miles away.
