Feast of St. Donatus in Blue Island, IL. Since 1909 the Feast of St. Donatus has been the first full week in August, with procession of the Saint through the streets of Blue Island on Sunday.

Visiting the Italian art cities in August can give travelers a huge advantage: they’ll find neither crowds nor traffic. August remains for Italians the month for vacation, with most of companies close for holiday.
