Milan, one of the major centers in the world for design and fashion, will showcase its culture, people, and design aesthetic to Milano Made in Design, exhibit scheduled in New York from June 1 until 10, 2006.

The event, organized by MACEF and also sponsored by Province of Milan and Chamber of Commerce and the Region of Lombardy will be hosted at the Milk Gallery of New York.

“Through Milano Made in Design, we are giving Americans a taste of Milan in New York and communicating the passions, values and culture of our great city,”
said Filippo Penati, President of the Province of Milan.

In this 10 days exhibit, Milano Made in Design will also host events involving New York City entrepreneurs, artists, writers and culinary experts.

More than 1,000 wine makers in Italy will offer free tastings May 27 and 28.
It’s “Cantine Aperte 2006” - “Open Cellars 2006“, the annual event drawing crowds of wine passionates to visit wineries, wine farms and cellars across the country.

The wine growers also will provide guests with information and advice on wine making, vines, grapes and territory.
It’s an opportunity to know more about the wine culture in Italy.

Tuscany, one of the regions more involved in “Open Cellars”, with its many wine itineraries, in the same days will attract also visitors fond of archaeology and history in general.
With the event “First Underground Tuscany Week“, this week Tuscany is celebrating its underground treasuries.

Special events and guided tours are scheduled in 21 sites across the Tuscany, among caves, mines, necropolises, aqueducts, underground passages and cellars dug into the tuff will be open to public.
