»» Deputy Mayor Could Resign for Offensive Comment on Italians

Italian-American Association of Monmouth County, New Jersey, will demand that Manalapan Deputy Mayor Michelle Roth resign for her husband’s offensive comment on Italians.

“Because I hate Italians”, was the remark made by Mr. Larry Roth at a public meeting on March 8.

Steve Cataneo, President of Italian-American Association of Monmouth County, said:

“Deputy Mayor Roth’s failure to denounce her husband’s remarks will just continue to erode the confidence of the public, divide the town further and (prompt) questions if her silence means she agrees with Mr. Roth’s biased remarks”

Deputy Mayor Michelle Roth continues to stand firm in her decision not to resign from her post, backed in her decision by party local leaders.

Monmouth County Democratic Chairman Victor Scudiery about the remark, said:
“They were clearly sarcastic remarks — not from any member of the governing body and not meant to be taken seriously — and are now being taken out of context.(Source: Asbury Park Press)

I am not sufficiently informed to enter into the subject ‘how effective such diet is’, but what I would emphasize is that the newspaper story reporting such news, frequently refers to Italian food and it looks like associating it with calories, weight etc…

From an excerpt:
“… for example, why each successive bite of pasta is less satisfying than the previous one. That’s why you don’t stop at pasta, but reach for the bruschetta as well, not to mention the salami and provolone. And when the cannoli and tiramisu are offered, it’s surprising how you can find room for those, too.”

And coming back on the
